IGAD Leaders Meet in Juba: Kiir and Machar Claim Mutual Responsibility for the War

October 21, 2014-According to Zambia’s Times Live, Kenya’s President Kenyatta, Uganda’s President Museveni and Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn travelled today to Juba to discuss the IGAD-led peace process. Each country is hosting refugees from South Sudan totaling almost half a million people Uganda’s military is backing government forces.

On Monday, South Sudan President Kiir and rebel leader Riek Machar both accepted responsibility for the war. It was their first meeting since they singed the IGAD agreement in August of this year.

There are no details about the IGAD visit.
