Addis Ababa, 13 February 2015 (WIC) - Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn said Ethiopia will continue supporting Somalia.
The PM held talks here on Wednesday with Sharif Hassan Sheikh Eden, the Interim President of South West Somalia.
The longstanding socio-economic and political ties of the two countries will continue strengthened, he said.
Since South West Somalia borders Ethiopia and the region is where AMISOM operates, the cooperation between the two countries will help keep the area stable, according to the premier.
The support to be extended to Somalia will be in capacity building, vocational training, training to Somali troops and the provision of scholarships, among others, it was indicated.
President Sharif Hassan Sheikh Eden on his part said Ethiopia’s effort to ensure peace and stability in Somalia is highly valued by the government and the people of Somalia.
He added that Somalia wants the wide-ranging support of Ethiopia to continue. (ENA)
