Kerry visits Djibouti

Addis Ababa, 6 May 2015 (WIC) – US Secretary of State John Kerry visited Djibouti today, the first U.S. Secretary of State to visit the country.

Upon his arrival at Ambouli International Airport, Kerry was received by Foreign Minister of Djibouti.

Accompanied by the US Ambassador to Djiboui, Mr. Tom Kelly and the foreign minister of Djibouti, Kerry visited Salman Mosque near at the Airport and the US base in Djibouti.

He was received there by the Minister of Muslim Affairs and Culture Mr. Aden Hassan Aden, delegates from religious institution, Youth and students who follow up the US scholarships in Djibouti.

Kerry thanked the minister for Islamic affairs and the government for arranging this historic welcome in the Mosque and listened information about the Mosque and Islam religions’ will from minister Aden Hassan Aden, who attended the Violence Extremism Summit at the white house 3 months ago.

Aden described the day as a great day and very historic for Djibouti, Muslims and the world in general. He shared the message of Islam with the US Secretary and the world.

He explained how Islamic religion is a peaceful, love caring for one another and forbids killings.

But some mistakenly brain washed people kills and terrorize people in all over the world under the pretext of religion, he said.

Minister Aden thanked the US for showing the world that all religions have no animosity at all with one another. Kerry’s visit in the mosque explains how the world integrates above all religions and colors.

He also praised Kerry for paying the courtesy visit to the Mosque where Muslims honors greatly.

During his half-day visit, Kerry also met the president of Djibouti, US diplomats and Djibouti officials.
