Egypt Opens Defense Office in Kampala

August 26, 2014-Uganda’s New Vision reports that Egyptian Armed Forces have opened up a defense office in Kampala. New Vision quotes the chief of military intelligence as saying, “It is a landmark in strengthening ties with Uganda on defense cooperation through defense, training and technical cooperation, and coordination in combatting terrorism in the East Africa region.”

Egyptian Ambassador to Uganda, Ahmed Abdel Aziz, said that opening the defense office would not only consolidate military ties with Uganda, but contribute to establishing peace and security in the region.
